Residential Interior Design & Architecture COPYWRITING

Custom-tailored to fit YOUR business

You focus on designing.

I’ll handle the words.

Hi, I’m Heidi, a professional copywriter who knows your industry.

WELCOME

As a Residential Interior Designer, Interior Architect, or Architect, you know 2 things:

  1. You’d rather be designing than writing

  2. Since a picture is worth 1000 words, those few words you do need had better be good.

This is where I step in.

What you do is both ephemeral and practical; solid. You envision, create, and move the practical around to create an ephemeral effect, an atmosphere.

I do this with words.

You express through light, materials, color, texture, line, and all the elements of great design. The transitory nature of mood is captured in built form.

I (not AI) express built form in words.

You’re a creative.

You want to be designing. You have lighting plans, flooring options, and contractor’s schedules on your plate. (I know, I’ve been there.)

You don’t want to have to worry about grammar, SEO, spelling, and thesauruses. Right?

YOU…

  • dream of steady work with great clients who trust you.

  • know that your website is a powerful tool to showcase your work.

  • want a robust, authoritative, relatable web presence that attracts and converts future clients.

  • know that nurturing a fabulous, consistent, informative website is more effective than spending precious time trying to boost ‘likes’ on social media.

BUT PERHAPS YOU

  • don’t know what to write

  • don’t have the time or bandwidth for more to-dos

  • don’t like talking about yourself

  • find yourself procrastinating

  • know that us entrepreneurs can’t (and shouldn’t!) do everything by ourselves

This is where I step in.

I write authentic, persuasive, passionate words to attract your ideal clients. You get to recover your time and energy.

Custom-tailored to fit you.

Why work with me?

I’m Heidi Rhodes. As a former designer, I used to be in your shoes.

Now, as a copywriter, I collaborate with you…subtracting to-dos from your list and adding time and energy into your day…so YOU can focus on designing.

Since working with Heidi our online presence has increased and our communications have become clearer.

Working with her is something I always look forward to.

  1. I understand the tools of your trade, workflow, and your competition. With over 20 years of design schooling and experience, I know your industry.

  2. I listen to you deeply to write in your authentic voice. As a trained actress, my listening allows me to embody your voice and brand. It’s important for me to ‘get’ you and share that with your ideal clients.

  3. With years of writing experience, I know storytelling. I can bring stories within your business to life.

  4. You are the only one who designs the way that you do. I understand the creative process. I’m skilled at clarifying what is personal, unique, and dazzling in your design values and sensibilities and translating them into words.

  5. You want to guide potential clients to say “yes”. I understand sales psychology and can encourage them to move past their objections and take action.

  6. You lead your clients and contractors towards a singular shared objective. I do the same for you. My empathy hears your needs; my skills help get you to where you want to be.

  7. When you’re too close to see the big picture, I mirror your business to you from a fresh perspective.

  8. You want a strong clientele with continuous new leads. I’m dedicated to your end goal of bringing in more business for you, in the most effective, efficient way possible.

Heidi writes in a way that is clear and compelling, in consideration of the customers’ experience.

Your business

holds your unique vision and message, which I empower through words. My smart, sensitive copy inspires your ideal clients to take immediate action.

Bringing you:

Sales

Visibility

Respectful relationships

Happy customers eager to hire you again (Summer house? Yes!)

and RELIEF

When your potential clients…

  • Know who you are

  • See your work

  • Empathize with your values, and

  • Understand the breadth of what you can do…

…they feel reflected, excited, and relieved that they’re finally in the right hands.

They want the exclusive experience of working with you and will happily pay for it.

You and I know that what you do is deeply intimate. You gain knowledge of your client’s home life, their budget, their quirks.

You want to understand them as much as they want to understand you.

It’s important that you mesh well. And potentially become a trustworthy part of their life, long term, for when their family needs evolve.

I want your website and marketing materials to reflect you in the most genuine way, in order to capture your dream clientele.

Authentic writing from the heart is a valuable asset that lasts. And makes you stand out from the rest.

This is where I step in.

Here’s how the process goes.

  • When you and I begin together, we’ll develop a clear marketing plan to optimize your budget.

  • Through thoughtful use of SEO, you’ll become more visible to those in search of design work. (Organically climb the Google ranks!)

  • Compelling descriptions of your mission and values attract an audience that vibes with you and creates an emotional connection with them.

  • Insightful blog posts full of knowledge establish you as a trusted authority. (Biophilic design using sustainable hempcrete, anyone?) Great for audiences in their ideas & information-gathering stage or those with specific questions.

  • Engaging emails (that feel like they’re from an old friend) nourish those who want to hear from you.

  • Your readers will potentially increase those valuable word-of-mouth recommendations.

But here’s the thing.

Artists and designers need downtime to do their best work. You do. Without my thoughtful guidance and collaboration in this adventure, you’ll likely fall back into procrastination, overwork, and overwhelm.

We don’t want that.
